Genus Liparis section Cestichis

Pseudobulbs 1 or 2 (3) leaved. Leaves more or less leathery, duplicate, articulated with the leaf or pseudobulb, leaving a clean scar when shed. Inflorescence terminal; peduncle terete. Floral bracts not distichous, usually not closely spaced. Flowers several to many opening at the same time, gradually more opening. Lip not lobed near the base, apically usually deeply 2-lobed, sometimes notched or more or less retuse or truncate; lateral margins ciliate, ciliolate to glabrous; apical margin(s) dentate to serrulate; about halfway strongly bent. Column elongated, lightly bent.


Usually epiphytes.
