Synonyms:
Terrestrials, leafless, mycoholotrophic, without chlorophyll, herbaceous. Roots absent or reduced and with root hairs, without velamen. Rhizome tuber-like or a coralloid underground stem. Stem erect, fleshy, white to buff-coloured. Leaves reduced to scale leaves, white to buff coloured; leaf sheath present. lnflorescence terminal, not branched, racemose, white to buff-coloured; rachis terete; floral bracts persistent. Flowers fleshy, resupinate or not. Ovary ellipsoid. Sepals rather similar, not connate. Petals free, smaller than the sepals. Lip not lobed to 3-lobed, without callus or callus with papillate ridges; spur present or not. Column fleshy, terete; anther incumbent or suberect; pollinia 2, sectile, attached by 1 or 2 caudicles to 1 or 2 small elliptical viscidia; stigma entire, concave; rostellum transverse.
