Type: Kempf s.n. (border between German and English New Guinea, Waria region) (holo B, lost)

Terrestrial, erect, 15-22 cm high; rhizome stem-like, decumbent; roots rather thick, flexuose, finely villose. Stem straight or nearly straight, densely 7-11-leaved, terete, glabrous, c. 0.4 cm diam. Leaves erect-patent, petiolate, glabrous; blade obliquely lanceolate, acute, at the base cuneate-rounded, 3.5-5.5 cm long, below the middle 1.2-1.7 cm wide; petiole dilated at the base, sheathing, 1-1.5 cm long. Inflorescence erect, very densely many-flowered; peduncle 1.5-2 cm long, sparsely glandulose-pilose; rachis (including the flowers) narrowly ovoid or cylindrical, to 3 cm long, c. 1.1 cm diam., densely glandulose-pilose. Floral bracts erect-patent, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, usually a little longer than the flowers. Flowers glabrous. Sepals in the basal part elliptic, at the apex somewhat narrowed and fleshy-thickened, outside rugose-rather finely warty, c. 0.3 cm long. Lateral sepals strongly oblique, at the base along the front margin somewhat dilated. Petals obliquely and broadly elliptic, obtuse, along the inner margins adhering to the median sepal, which is about equally long. Lip in outline quadrangular, c. 0.25 cm long, in the basal half along the margin on either side with a short and obliquely semiorbicular lobule, apical half semiquadrangular, apex truncate with an obtuse, lobe-like apicule with incurved margins; spur thick, oblongoid, obtuse, c. 0.3 cm long, dorsally above the middle with 2 oblique, globose, stalked appendages. Column short, rather thick; rostellum short, emarginate. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, c. 0.5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1921)
