Rhizome short, stems ascending, including the inflorescence 15-25 cm tall. Leaves crowded near the base of the inflorescence; leaf-sheath rather large, abruptly contracted in the short petiole; blade lanceolate, acute or acuminate, leaves 2-7.5 by 0.6-1.2 cm. Inflorescence with 2 or 3 minute peduncle-scales, sparsely pilose, rachis short, mostly 8- to 15-flowerd. Floral bracts ovate, a little longer than the ovaries, like the rachis and the ovaries pilose. Sepals and to a lesser extent the petals swollen at the tips. Sepals 0.4 by 0.25 cm. Median sepal narrowly oblong, concave, folded above. Lateral sepals broadly oblong, obtuse, towards the apex concave. Petals hyaline, oblong, 0.3 by 0.25 cm, tightly cohering with the median sepal. Lip broadly obovate-oblong, 0.4 by 0.25 cm, obtuse, with a median keel or lamella and two additional indistinct keels just below the apex, apical margins rolled inwards; spur large, flattened, obtuse, about as long as the ovary, with appendages in the middle.
