Type: Kempf s.n. (border between German and English New Guinea, Waria region) (holo B, lost)

Terrestrial, erect, c. 20 cm high; rhizome decumbent, stem-like; roots flexuose, rather thick, finely villose. Stem erect, straight, terete, glabrous, c. 6-leaved. Leaves subpatent, petiolate, glabrous; blade obliquely lanceolate, acute, rounded at the base, 4-5 cm long, below the middle 1.4-1.9 cm wide; petiole dilated at the base, sheathing, 1.2-1.6 cm long. Inflorescence erect, straight, with a few tightly clasping, acuminate scales, glandulose-finely pilose; rachis rather laxly or subdensely 12-18-flowered, to 8 cm long. Floral bracts lanceolate, strongly acuminate, almost as long as the ovary. Sepals lanceolate, subobtuse, glandulose-finely pilose, 0.4 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique. Petals at the base obliquely ovate, obliquely ligulate, at the apex oblique, obtuse, minutely papillose, along the inner margins adhering to the median sepal and almost as long. Lip 0.4 cm long, with ovate-cucullate, 0.25 cm long, 0.2 cm wide hypochile, inside above the base with two appendages; epichile with a short claw, broadly rhombic, about 0.15 cm wide, obtusely acuminate, inside densely papillose. Column short; rostellum with relatively large arms, obliquely oblanceolate. Ovary cylindrical-fusiform, glandulose-pilose, c. 0.5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1921)
