Terrestrial, erect, c. 40 cm high, relatively stout; roots rather thick, flexuose, tomentose-puberulous; stem rather thick, at the base decumbent, erect, straight or nearly so, terete, at the base glabrous, laxly leafy. Leaves erect-patent or patent, slender petiolate; blade obliquely lanceolate, acuminate, at the base rounded, 6-10 cm long, above the base 2-3 cm wide; petiole dilated towards the base, cucullate-sheathing. Inflorescence glandulose-puberulous, rather laxly c. 20-flowered; rachis glandulose puberulous. Floral bracts suberect, lanceolate, acuminate, almost as long as the ovary, glandulose-puberulous. Median sepal ovate-lanceolate, acute, concave, 0.8 cm long, above the base 0.4 cm wide, outside glandulose-puberulous. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate-oblong, obtuse, almost as long as the median sepal but a little broader, outside glandulose-puberulous. Petals distinctly oblique, at the base lanceolate, oblong, obtuse, front margins in the basal half rounded-dilated, along the inner margins cohering with the median sepal, 0.8 cm long, in the basal half 0.4 cm wide. Lip at the base strongly concave, in outline ovate, 0.8 cm long, margins swollen, above the middle incurved, at the apex abruptly dilated into two divergent, oblong, 0.5 cm long, obliquely and obtusely truncate lobes; lip at the base with two irregularly tuberculate calli. Column short; rostellum bifid. Anther obcordate, strongly acuminate, glabrous. Ovary subcylindrical, glandulose-puberulous, c. 1 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1905)
