Synonyms:
Epiphyte, small, 10-20 cm high. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs ovoid-conical or conical-cylindrical, 1-4 by 0.3-0.7 cm; 1-leaved. Leaves erect, lanceolate-ligulate, acute, glabrous, 6-18 by 1.1-2.5 cm near the middle; base weakly narrowed into a petiole. Inflorescence 1-flowered, short, 1-2 cm long, with few small, clasping peduncle-scales. Floral bracts elliptic-cucullate, acuminate, much shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flower erect or suberect. Sepals elliptic, apiculate, glabrous, 1.7 cm long. Lateral sepals recurved, distinctly broader than the median one. Petals decurved, obliquely linear-ligulate, obtuse, glabrous, 0.8 cm long. Lip elliptic, subobtuse, slightly concave, glabrous, 1.5 by 0.6 cm near the middle; especially towards the base with somewhat swollen margins. Column slightly curved, with widened base; stelidia slightly curved, with few teeth, the lower tooth somewhat longer; column-foot absent. Anther ovate-cucullate, shortly acuminate, umbonate, glabrous. Pedicel and ovary glabrous, c. 2 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)
Sepals cherry-red with white margins. Petals dark carmine-red. Lip brown with golden yellow margins.
Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 800 m.
