Plant 22—26 cm tall, in compact clusters. Rhizome 0.25—0.3 cm diam., very short, with loose scale leaves. Leafy stem erect, abbreviated, fusiform, completely covered by leaf petioles and sheaths, 2.2—2.7 by 0.2—0.3 cm. Leaves 2—5; leaf sheath 0.6—1.4 by 03—0.64 cm; petiole 0.8—1.5 by 0.3—0.5 cm when spread; leaf blade broadly ovate to ovate, attenuate, 2.5—7 by 1—3.7 cm; base slightly obcordate; apex apiculate; 3—5- nerved. Inflorescence distinctly elongate 20—23 cm long; peduncle rather slender, with up to 3 reflexed, narrowly triangular, attenuate, 1-nerved scale leaves 0.6—0.8 by 0.15—0.17 cm with acute apex; raceme densely c. 80-flowered, 7.7—8.2 cm tall. Floral bracts deflexed, rather long triangular, attenuate, 0.4—0.6 by 0.2—0.22 cm; apex acute; 1-nerved. Ovary c. 0.4 by 0.08—0.12 cm; pedicel 0.6—0.7 by 0.05—0.08 cm; sinuate. Flowers 0.7—1 cm. Median sepal oblong-ovate, c. 0.6 by 0.2—0.22 cm; apex obtuse to rounded. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate, c. 0.4 by 0.23—0.25 cm; base slightly obcordate; apex obtuse to rounded. Petals curved, oblanceolate, attenuate, 0.44—0.5 by c. 0.1 cm; apex acute. Lip hippocrepiform, c. 0.5 by 0.3—0.33 cm; mid-lobe oblong, with apiculate apex, separated from the lateral lobes by a shallow indentation; lamina without lamellae, flat, at the apex with two geminate, clavate calli up to 0.1 cm high, 0.07—0.08 cm auricles oblong, nearly linear, c. 0.25cm long, 0.09—0.12 cm base, at the apex distinctly curved subacute and overlapping. Gynostemium erect, entirely distinctly and minutely papillose, 0.22—0.24 by 0.06—0.1 cm; about halfway at the back with a large, erect, oblong-ovate, rather long attenuate appendage 0.08—0.12 by c. 0.08 cm at the base; staminodes folded back from the anther, nearly rectangular, 0.08—0.09 by 0,07—0.1 cm; apex obliquely truncate. Anther c. 0.06 by c. 0.04 cm, pale-yellow to white-yellow; rostellum sinuately curved, greenish to dark-green.

Leaf sheath green, fawn-tinged; blade above yellowish-green, below paler. Floral bracts green. Pedicel and ovary green to greenish-yellow. Flowers sordidly yellow; calli yellowish. Column pale-yellow to greenish-yellow. Stelidia dark-green. Anther pale-yellow to white-yellow; rostellum greenish to dark-green.

Terrestrial in lower montane Castanopsis acuminatissima forest, on bright grey clay. Altitude 800 m.
