Rhizome woody, internodes c. 2 cm long, 0.4-0.5 cm diam. Roots at the nodes, densely pubescent, 0.2-0.3 cm diam. Pseudobulbs ovoid basally, becoming subcylindrical, 2-leaved apically, ca. 8 cm long, 1.2 cm diam. near the base, 0.7 cm diam. near the apex. Leaves narrowly elliptic-oblanceolate, acuminate, petiolate, rather thin with five slightly prominent veins, petiole 6-l0 cm long, blade 35-41 by 4.2-4.5 cm. Inflorescence subterminal [incomplete in specimen described], 25.7 cm long, 0.2-0.3 cm diam., subterete in the first 2.2 cm, otherwise triquetrous, sparsely and shortly pubescent, laxly (at least) 23-flowered; peduncle scales basally amplexicaul, ovate, shortly acuminate, to 1.5 cm long. Floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, sparsely pubescent, to 1.2 by 0.34 cm. Pedicel with ovary sparsely pubescent, 1 cm long. Flowers outside sparsely and shortly pubescent, erect. Median sepal ovate-lanceolate, subacute,1.5 by 0.5 cm. Lateral sepals triangular-falcate, subacute, 1.5 by 0.5-0.6 cm; mentum 0.4 cm long. Petals ligulate-lanceolate, subacute, 1.3-1.4 by 0.35 cm. Lip 3-lobed, 1.3-1.4 by 0.7 cm, with three straight lamellate keels on the hypochile diminishing apically, then raising high on the mid-lobe with finely crisped margins, with a similar keel on each side at their bases on the mid-lobe; lateral lobes subquadrate; mid-lobe elliptic, acute, margins finely crisped, 0.6 by 0.4 cm. Column stout, the lower margin straight, 0.4 by 0.3 cm; foot forming a right angle with ovary, 0.4 cm long. (After Ormerod, 1995).
