Epiphyte, erect or decumbent, up to 50 cm long, branched; rhizome stem-like, decumbent, creeping or short; roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous; stem and branches somewhat laterally compressed, leafy, somewhat rigid, entirely covered by the leaf-sheaths; leaves erect or erect-patent, linear-lanceolate, strongly unequally and obtusely bilobulate, at the base cuneate-narrowed, 4-7.5 cm long, below the middle 0.3-0.5 cm wide; sheaths closely appressed, apex obliquely truncate, obtuse, densely rugose. Inflorescence nodding, secund, initially covered with sheaths that soon disappear, densely many-flowered, 2 cm long; bracts hyaline, soon falling off. Flowers glabrous. Sepals oblong, apiculate, 0.65 cm long. Lateral sepals up to near the middle connate, oblique. Petals oblong-ligulate, oblique, about as long as the sepals. Lip subquadrate-ovate, obtuse, glabrous, 0.3 cm long, near the middle 0.18 cm wide, spur oblongoid-saccate, obtuse, somewhat shorter and narrower than the blade of the lip. Column short, glabrous, less than half as long as the lip, clinandrium sublobulate-dentate. Anther cucullate with obtuse umbo, in front truncate. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.65 cm long.

Flower golden yellow, lip apex scarlet, anther light brown with white humps.

Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1200-3050 m.

Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
