Dendrobium humilicolle Schltr., Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 58 (1923) 98 (nom. nov.).
Type: Kloss s.n. (Camp 6a, 3100 ft.) (holo BM).
Synonyms:
Pseudobulbs crowded, 1-leaved, cylindrical-conical in basal third, slender in apical two thirds, 3 cm long. Leaves linear, 5 by 0.2 cm, apex acutely bilobulate. Inflorescences terminal, 1-flowered; spathe lanceolate, 0.6 cm long, acute. Pedicel and ovary 2 cm long, very slender. Flower c. 5 cm across. Sepals triangular at the base, long caudate upwards, 3 cm long; mentum 0.3 cm long, obtuse. Petals linear at the base, filiform upwards. Lip oblong, 0.5 by 0.15 cm, with 3 wavy keels converging towards the apex, apex rounded. Column short, stelidia erect, tooth-like, filament linear. Anther conical.

Flower white, lip with a purple patch on each side and yellow keels.
Epiphyte in hill forest. Altitude 950 m.
New Guinea (endemic).
Papua (Timika Mimika Regency).
Intermediate growing epiphyte.
Not recorded.
Dendrobium humilicolle Schltr. is possibly a relative of Dendrobium cadetioides Schltr.
