Type: LAE 66850 (Barker) (holo L; iso LAE).
Synonyms:
Epiphytic herb. Roots terete, slender, 0.05-0.1 cm thick. Stems caespitose, at the base semi-terete, above compressed, usually entirely enclosed by leaf sheaths, rarely partly exposed at dorsal base of leaf sheaths, 7 leaved, 9-19 by upto 0.9 cm wide above over the leaf sheathes. Leaves ligulate, 7.3-15.2 by 2.0-2.4 cm; base in lower 4 leaves rounded ovate, in upper 3 the base narrower; leaf sheaths exposed part 5-6 by 0.8-0.9 cm; stipules deltate to deltate-lanceolate; with acute apex, to 0.2 cm long. Inflorescence terminal, composed of several bracts, papery sheaths and some flowers, to 1.5 by c. 2.5 cm. Pedicel and ovary narrowly clavate, sparsely furfuraceous, c. 0.79 cm long. Flowers externally sparsely furfuraceous. Median sepal broadly ovate-elliptic, 0.58 by 0.4 cm, slightly carinate; apex acute; 5-nerved. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate-elliptic, 0.8 by 0.49 cm (0.6 cm long along midrib); basal quarter enclosing spur; upper half with carinate midvein; apex acute; 3-nerved. Petals oblong-ligulate, 0.55 by 0.19 cm; apex irregular-subacute; 4-nerved. Lip 3-lobed, 0.82 cm long; hypochile retrorse saccate-spurred, obtuse, c. 0.3 by 0.18-0.19 cm. the sac c. 0.15 cm long; ligula subquadrate, widely bilobed; epichile transversely elliptic trapeziform, 0.52 by 0.7 cm, its base with 2 oblong calli, with subtruncate apex. Column semi-terete, clavate; wings slightly curved-straight with a truncate base, c. 0.395 cm long (c. 0.29 cm long without anther cap).

Leaves glossy, dark green; leaf sheaths with black margin. Flowers white, lip pale yellow, pollinia (anther cap?) pale brown.
Secondary montane rainforest and dense rainforest cleared by cyclonic wind, 1400-2100 m.
Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).

Agrostophyllum flexuosum subsp. telefominense differs from Agrostophyllum flexuosum subsp. tflexuosum in the column having wings with an almost straight margin with a truncate base.
