Agrostophyllum wagiribuanum Ormerod, Orchadian 17 (2012) 187, fig.

Type: Reeve 5434 (holo K; iso LAE, NSW).

Epiphytic herb. Roots terete, 0.08 cm thick. Stems caespitose, slender, , sublaxly many leaved, 29-35 by 0.075-0.150 cm, 0.20-0.25 cm wide across leaf sheaths; base terete, higher up slightly compressed; internodes 0.7-1.3 cm long. Leaves linear-ligulate, thin, 3.2-4.9 by 0.17-0.23 cm; leaf sheaths closing about halfway down the internode; stipules lanceolate, acute, 0.08-0.13 cm long; apex inequally bidentate, tips 0.08-0.2 cm long. Inflorescence terminal, composed of several bracts and sheaths that break down into fibrous remnants, successively 1- to few-flowered, 1-1.5 by 0.5-1cm. Pedicel and ovary clavate­ triquetrous,0. 5 cm long. Median sepal elliptic-lanceolate, 0.6 by 0.27 cm; carinate in apical third; apex acute; 3-nerved. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate-elliptic; shortly thickly carinate near apex; apex acute; 3-nerved, 0.62 by 0.3 cm (0.6 cm along the midrib). Petals oblong-lanceolate, 0.5 by 0.18 cm; margin irregular; apex acute; 3-nerved. Lip 3-lobed, c. 0.64 cm long; hypochile shortly retrorse saccate, c. 0.22 by 0.175 cm, the lateral lobes widest halfway, rotundate; ligula subquadrate­cuneate, widely bidentate, papillose-pubescent, raised 0.08-0.09 cm above the lateral lobes; epichile trilobulate, with irregular margins, 0.42 by 0.54 cm, the median lobule transversely oblong, c. 0.1 by 0.285-0.29 cm; apex irregularly truncate-emarginate with an apiculus below the apex. Column semi-terete, rather stout; median with deltate, obtuse lateral wings, 0.42 cm long with anther cap (0.375 cm without).

Agrostophyllum wagiribuanum resembles A. montanum but differs in having stipulate leaf sheaths (versus without stipules), broader oblong-lanceolate petals with irregular nargin (versus narrower, oblong-ligulate with entire margin) and the column which is not raised and is median winged
