Synonyms:
Epiphyte, very small. Rhizome short. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs 0.5-0.9 cm apart, ovoid, 0.4-0.8 by 0.2-0.5 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, oblong, apiculate, 1-2.5 by 0.35-0.7 cm in the middle; base narrowed. Inflorescence 1-flowered, very short, covered with peduncle-scales. Floral bracts apiculate, as long as the ovary. Sepals oblong, 0.3 cm long. Median sepal glabrous, at the apex elongated into a reflexed, 1 cm long tail. Lateral sepals boat-shaped-connate, the margins rather inconspicuously finely ciliate, the apex with a minute, ovoid appendage. Petals obliquely oblong, apiculate, hardly 0.1 cm long. Lip in outline more or less ligulate, somewhat longer than the petals; at the base narrowed, with a minute swelling; gradually dilating, above the middle somewhat narrowed; upper half with ciliate margins. Column short; stelidia obliquely oblong, apiculate. Anther cucullate, glabrous. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.1 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)
Flower scarlet-red, near the base white.
Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 1000-2500 m.
Malesia (New Guinea).
Intermediate growing epiphyte.
