Slender or robust terrestrial herb, to 20 cm tall. Leaves more or less rosulate, with a large, scarious sheath, between the sheath and the blade with a short, thin petiole; blade ovate-lanceolate, acute, 2-5.5 by 1.4-2.6 cm. Inflorescence pubescent. Peduncle-scales lanceolate-oblong, acute, 1 cm long. Floral bracts lanceolate, acute, sparsely pubescent. Flowers 10-12 or more, in a lax raceme. Ovary 1 cm long, glabrous, sessile. Sepals ovate-lanceolate, 1-nerved, acute, 0.5 cm long; median sepal cohering with the petals. Petals oblong, 0.5 by 0.25 cm, apex obliquely truncate, narrowed at the base, 1-nerved, the nerve running close to the posterior margin. Lip at the base saccate or strongly concave, constricted above the middle, at the apex dilated into a broadly obtriangular blade, minutely apiculate; from the middle of the basal sac with a raised crest that ends in a callus; at the base of the sac on either side with a stalked fleshy appendage; margin of the sac membranous-winged.

Leaves with a whitish midvein. Sepals brownish to brownish pink, petals whitish.

Terrestrial in montane forest.
