Differs in the uniformly light brown upper side of the leaves and the more open inflorescence. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)
Leaves pale brown above. Flowers colour not recorded, presumably yellow, later red.
Terrestrial in moist spots in lowland forest; 150 m.
Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
